Academic Tutoring

Have you ever heard your child say, “I can’t do this.  It’s too hard”?  Does your child try to avoid homework time by trying to change the subject or misbehaving?   I have worked with students with a range of needs and learning goals to help them achieve success in school.  Whether your child is an auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learner, I can find a strategy that will result in success.  Together your child and I will work on organizational and note-taking strategies, understanding texts and completing homework. Through fun, rigorous work, I can help your child develop the strategies that will make them confident, capable learners.  

Reading Support

Is your child having a difficult time breaking the phonemic code?  Do you have to force them to sit down for 10 minutes of silent reading?  Reading is at the base of all learning and is therefore a skill all students must acquire.  My approach is to use literature that incorporates their interests to captivate them.  Once your child is actively engaged, I will work with breaking down and understanding words, and comprehension of both fiction and nonfiction texts.  

Support Navigating through Schools

Learn for Life Tutoring works with parents, teachers, and other professionals as requested. This includes attending IEP meetings, and supporting classroom instructors. Parents are provided with regular reports and feedback. Your child's progress is continually monitored and shared. All of your child's information is kept in strict confidence.
